Welcome to NCQHA
The North Carolina Quarter Horse Association was established in 1963 with the objective to “stimulate and regulate any and all other matters such as may pertain to the breeding, exhibition, publicity, sale, racing or improvements of this breed”. NCQHA with its long history and presence in North Carolina has had a huge impact on both the breed and the equine industry. Multiple national and world champion horses have been bred, born, trained and exhibited in this state by an exceptional group of owners, trainers and riders. A study commissioned by the NC General Assembly, showed the economic impact of the equine industry in North Carolina to be approximately $1.9 billion, and the home to over 300,000 horses in all 100 counties; housed at over 53,000 households and equine operations.
